Centamin Egypt Limited is a mineral exploration, development and mining company, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:CNT), the Main Board of the London Stock Exchange (LSE:CEY) and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:CEE).
Centamin has been exploring for gold in Egypt since 1995, and in 2005 was granted a 160km 2 exploitation lease over the massive Sukari Hill gold project.
The current resource at Sukari is 10.29 million ounces Measured and Indicated, and 3.45 million ounces Inferred, with ongoing drilling expected to add significantly to this resource.
In February 2007 a definitive feasibility study was completed showing robust economics for a 4mtpa processing plant producing initially 200,000 oz per annum.
Optimal design throughput at the Sukari Gold Project was achieved during December 2009.
On 11 January 2010, the Company announced that the Sukari Gold Project had achieved yet another important milestone with the commencement of gold exports to a nominated overseas gold refinery.
